Eggs in a Frame
































This really wasn't meant to be solely a cooking blog~   I've got to change things up so I'm promising myself some non foody stuff coming up!  



These are so easy and yummy and little and big kids love them.  

They also go by different names, such as~

Homemade Apple Fritters




I found the original recipe over at Greek Food and Greek Life and tweeked it to my own liking.  



Quick and Easy with minimal ingredients~  



In large bowl mix together~ 

1 cup of flour~  heaping 

1/3 cup sugar 

1 tsp baking powder 

dash of salt 

1 tsp cinnamon



In seperate bowl combine wet ingredients~   

1/2 tsp vanilla 

1 Tbsp butter melted 

1 egg 

1/3 cup milk (plus

Homemade Yogurt



    




















Ingredients 



4 cups of Milk~  for thicker yogurt use whole milk 



1/2 cup dry (powdered milk but I used 3/4 cup) 



1/4 cup plain yogurt with live yogurt cultures as a starter.  I used Greek Yogurt







Step One~  Place milk in pot and heat up till milk is almost boiling which is 180 degrees.  You don't neccesarily need a thermometer for this part but I like to

Oatmeal Pancakes





These are so good!

 I love the texture of these and they are so much more healthier than ordinary pancakes with the addition of oats.  Good with or without syrup~ and now that I am thinking
about it~ they would be good with some pecans or walnuts thrown in to make them crunchy.



2 cups quick cooking oatmeal

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 cup milk

Smoothies for 2






Smoothies are so yummy and I love trying different variations!  

I did these today for the hubs and I and they are pretty basic.  



Frozen fruit~  your choice of rasberries, strawberries, peaches...etc (1/2 cup or so)

Bananas 2 or 3 ( chop and freeze them in a baggy for an even better smoothie)

Yogurt~  This is the American counterpart to the Korean version of yogurt.  I prefer using a

Easy Fried Potatoes






Many years ago I had an awesome brainstorm on how to make Easy Fried Potatoes.  I really got tired of undercooked fried potatoes that were hard in the middle but dark on the outside.
I love this because it's simple (who doesn't love simple?)and makes serving breakfast VERY fast. Prepwork makes it so easy and I love the fact that it's also economical!
